"The beach. That's my dream, to live near the ocean."
I have wanted to live by the ocean since I was small and I first started writing about it when I was 14 years old. Small dream? I don't believe so, I have loved it since I could crawl. I have footage from old VHS tapes, if you'd like to see more about it visually, please watch this video.
That video took a couple of months to produce and a painting resulted from it as well. It's more so for me, to document and make sense of things. In it, I talk about my first discoveries in art when I was young and how it links to the ocean.
Anyway, more on today's topic. I love journaling and documenting. Hence, creating art and linking it with words and poetry. I started my first diary in eighth grade and have been writing in new ones ever since. It's so funny to go back and see what was on my mind at 14 comparing it to now. Old notes, poems, and sketches fill the diary, and I go back to it from time to time.
Especially now, I have been living in Ocean City, MD with a roommate since September, but I will truly be on my own living in an apartment starting in March. I cannot express my excitement or explain how long I've wanted to have the ocean as my backyard. It makes me feel connected with myself in all ways.
I cannot wait to continue to share my journey and what's going on. Excited for new content, videos, and of course...art.
